Academic Competitions & Opportunities to Perform
Baked into the Advent experience are opportunities for students to gain competence and confidence. There are formal school experiences, such as the 2nd or 8th-grade play, the wax museum, the 3rd-grade author presentations, or the annual Lessons and Carols service, and organic ones such as an impromptu “sing off” in French class, a Flex dance class performance for peers, or upper school students reading along with their buddies.
On January 31, students in all grades are invited to share their talent during our annual school-wide Celebrate the Arts Day! And later in the spring, all students are invited to join a creative writing competition for Read Across America. In February, French Club member will participate in a state-wide French Convention competition. These opportunities allow students to pursue their passions and gain confidence.
Congratulations to Marion in grade 5 for earning first place in the state bee and Andrew in grade 6 for earning second place at the district bee!
